In March 2019 while a guest at the Wat Con One convention in Watford, Tony used his social media accounts to share a photo of himself with a fellow guest whom he described as 'the wonderful Hugo Myatt. Enter, stranger...' This provoked a warm response from fans, which continued when a Guardian interview in April 2019 made many people aware of Tony's mental health experiences.

Tony sometimes referred to his assistants as his Goblins. In another pleasing display of his Knightmare knowledge, he remarked on Twitter in May 2019 that he had 'confiscated their horn'.
